Articulating Shaft Seal For Powder & Bulk

Inpro/Seal’s Air Mizer® product line was developed to use minimal amounts of air pressure to seal shafts wherever dry particulates, powders and bulk solids are handled, processed, packaged and stored. According to the manufacturer, the Articulated Air Mizer-PS has all the features of the original Air Mizer™-PS and adds the ability to handle extreme shaft run-out and deflection to provide a seal that conventional methods simply cannot attain. Based on a modification of Inpro/Seal’s successful compound labyrinth bearing isolator, the product incorporates a unique design feature whereby a solid wall of air functions as a barrier for contamination and works to retain product in the equipment, not outside of it.

High-Performance Barrier Fluids

Royal Purple has added two new barrier fluids to its line of products. The Barrier Fluid FDA is a pure, nonreactive, synthetic fluid, which provides superior lubrication and cooling for double and tandem mechanical seals. The fluid offers stable seal performance over a wide temperature range. Likewise, the Barrier Fluid GT is a non-reactive, synthetic fluid that provides superior lubrication and cooling for double and tandem mechanical seals. Recommended for high temperatures where FDA purity is not required, it also is chemically inert and can be used with most non-oxidizing gases and liquids. Both products are offered in the same grades and meet the same physical specifications.

Pressure Measuring Film

Sensor Products Inc.’s Pressurex® is a thin, flexible film that helps determine compression, magnitude and distribution between two mating or contacting surfaces. It is applicable for multiple industrial applications, such as assessing surface contact inconsistencies in gaskets, clamps, bolted joints, connectors and heat sealing elements, among others. When placed between two contacting services, the film changes color proportional to the actual pressure applied. A color correlation chart is used to verify the exact pressure magnitude.
