Self-Lubricating Bearings For Dry & Submerged Jobs
Metallized Carbon Corporation offers Metcar grades M-161 and M-162 mechanical materials, unique carbon/graphite Babbit impregnated products designed to operate where conventional lubricating methods can’t. At temperatures up to 350 F, they are well suited for lubricating submerged in low-viscosity fluids such as water and fuels. For dry environments, they provide oil-free lubrication at high temperatures. Bearings made from Metcar also are non-galling, dimensionally stable and have high compressive strength.

Web-based Lube Library
Trico has announced the launch of a new Web-based Lubrication Library. This online service provides subscribers a central point of reference on lubricant specifications and technical information from major lubricant suppliers. Among other things, users can easily build and print a reference list of lubricants currently used within their facility, along with manufacturer spec sheets and material safety data sheets. Multiple data can be searched and detailed reports generated and printed for comparison.

Severe Service Control Valves Benefit From Gaseous Noise Reduction Breakthrough
Flowserve has announced the release of Flowserve Valtek® Stealth™, a patented gaseous noise trim that reduces sound pressure levels in the most demanding applications. According to the company, three years of field service have proven the Stealth’s advanced, patented design and its ability to reduce noise up to 40 decibels in severe service where noise and excessive vibration can damage both human hearing and equipment. Cuts in the Stealth™ laser-cut discs stacked to form the seat retainer in the device form channels for fluid to pass through. Then, building on technologies from the Flowserve Valtek® TigerTooth™ trim, flow through the Stealth expands and contracts as it passes through the seat retainer, creating gradual, controlled pressure drops, without generating high velocities. Stealth also utilizes Flowserve’s new WaveCracker, a frequency-shifting technology to significantly reduce audible noise over other designs.

Wobble Stator Pumps
Seepex has released a new pump that eliminates one of the universal joints and the stator reinforcement required in the traditional design. These new units offer increased efficiencies and longevity without sacrificing pressure or abrasion resistance. They can be direct coupled to 4- or 6-pole, 3-phase motors, gear motors or mechanical variable speed drives. Smaller sizes are available with single-phase motors.
